I held my right hand up, at shoulder height. You did the same, and smiled. I turned away before you did, shoving my hand in the pocket of sweatshirt, curling it against the other. My feet were heavy as I started moving. The inertia of the moment was pulling me down, the gravity of this place weighing on me. Two steps, then three, four, five. I started feeling marginally lighter as I moved away. The temptation to look back faded. I moved forward.
