Many apologies for the lack of a word last week. I was on holiday and
crazedturkey was off learning things.
Here is this week's word - enjoy!
Don't look at the word until you are ready to write. When your fifteen minutes are up and you have completed your ficlet, you may either post it as a response here, or post a link to the ficlet in your own journal. If posting on your own journal, please hide the prompt word in some way (ie. under an LJ-cut) in order to avoid spoiling it for others.
Today's word is: cold
You can copy and paste this code when posting your ficlet if desired.

It was always slightly cold in the TARDIS. Sarah used to complain to the Doctor, asking him to turn the heat up. Then she complained to the Doctor in order to make herself feel better, then she complained to the Doctor in order to warm herself up. It didn't matter, because the TARDIS remained cold.
If she had ever needed evidence that the Doctor was an alien, his stubborn insistence on a chilly ambient temperature would have convinced her.
When she was tired of complaining, she would go on thermostat hunts. Her expeditions took her to many interesting rooms, and she would often stumble across fascinating things, but as for a control that would regulate heat, she never found one.
She took to wearing a lot of jumpers. However, she never gave up complaining. Surely the Doctor would eventually give in.
One day, after a trip back to Earth, she jokingly said that it was time to go home to warm up. The Doctor laughed, and held the TARDIS door open for her. She laughed back, and shook her head.
Mike Yates had a car she could borrow. She borrowed it. She told the Doctor that she would see him later. She got in, but then the car wouldn't start.
When the Doctor offered to take her home instead, she decided it wouldn't hurt. She entered the TARDIS, then stopped.
It was warm inside.
She turned back to the Doctor, surprised. He gave a little cough, then went to the console.
"So, South Croydon, Sarah Jane?" he asked, busying himself at the controls.
Sarah shrugged off her jumper, taking in the comfortable temperature. "Actually," she said with a smile, "I don't need to go home quite yet."
The Doctor smiled back, and hit the controls for dematerialization.
