Title: Sunny With a Chance of Tail

Characters:Chilli, Bethany & James
Rating: PG
Word count: 450
Bethany Hail walked into the habitat and gazed at the Plexiglas above her. The penguins were diving, playing and swimming above her. Her favorite penguin, Chilli was watching her through the glass, eyeing her carefully as bethany was carrying a bucket of his favorite treats.
She closed the side door to the habitat behind her and made her way toward the pen to feed the now frenzying fray.
“Hiya Beth,” James, the manager greeted. Good thing you showed up, these guys are getting frisky.”
“Gosh, even Chilli has been eyeing me up and down, better feed them quick." She climbed the stairs behind James and got ready to start feeding the penguins. She glanced quickly for Chilli, she had an extra special treat for him, a red snapper, he favorite. She would go to the fish market special for him, because in general they ate mackerel.
“Be careful, watch your step, its very slippery today. the forecast was for rain and it froze overnight.” James warned.
“Oh thanks, you know how clumsy I am, last week i ended up going for a swim when Chilli tried to grab the fish when I was on the bench.” she grimaced and rubbed her bum in remembrance.
James laughed and shook his head. “that crazy penguin.” and sure enough as the both got to the bench to drop fish into the tank, James forgot his own warning and slipped. Grabbing on to Bethany as he went down, fish flying everywhere, and the penguins enjoying the sudden commotion. A lone red snapper went wide and a mischievous penguin leaped out of the water and caught it.
“Ow!” Bethany grumbled. She was lying on top of James. She looked down at him into his blue eyes that were sparkling also with mischief.
“Fancy meeting you here!” James kidded. He parted his lips and gazed into Bethany’s eyes. “I think that penguin has it in for us,” I slipped on the tail of a red snapper.” he laughed.
Bethany looked down and laughed at the silly creature perched on a rock munching away at his fish. “I think he is playing matchmaker.” she smiled.
With that James pulled Bethany down for a kiss, and the penguins all began to clap and chirp. They broke apart and Bethany laughed “I guess the forecast should have been, sunny with a chance of tail.” he laughed at her double pun and lean back to kiss Bethany again.
