Don't look at the word until you are ready to write. When your fifteen minutes are up and you have completed your ficlet, you may either post it as a response here, or post a link to the ficlet in your own journal. If posting on your own journal, please hide the prompt word in some way (ie. under an LJ-cut) in order to avoid spoiling it for others.

Kaid leaned back against the hard backed chair, and stretched. It didn’t help much however. They really needed to get chairs that were a little more comfortable in here. Shaking his dark head, he sighed and hit the ‘shut down’ button on the computer screen. He couldn’t see straight enough to do anything much less finish the programming that needed to be done. Shit, he’d really wanted to finish that off tonight so it could go to approval. You’ll do a better job if you finish it tomorrow anyway, Kaid told himself with a sigh. Besides that, he’d still have to get Mitch to do a test run on the damn thing. Mitch was young but he was nothing if not thorough when it came to work.
Pulling his coat on slowly, Kaid picked up his keys off the corner of the desk. He’d take his collection of coffee cups home another time. Right now, all he wanted was a hot--hot--shower and his bed even if it was empty. Michael’s pictures swung from its spot on the key chain as the elevator headed down. Twirling it, Kaid watched the smiling face spin until it began to slow down.
Shaking his head at himself, he stepped out into the parking garage, Michael would be back eventually. He still wished it was sooner rather then later as he skirted the edge of a rainbow colored puddle. Someone’s car was leaking something, but it was too far away to be his own. The only parking spot he’d managed to find that morning was as far away from the building as you could get.
With a sigh, Kaid turned side ways to slide between the encroaching truck beside his car. Looking out through the haze of the rain he watched as water droplets fell from above. For a moment, he got caught up in the form and shape of them, water had always fascinated Kaid. He’d tried time and time again to create something on the computer that looked so beautiful but it was never quiet right. Though of course if his superiors knew how much time he’d spent on the rain in some of their simulations they might have comment he thought with a wry smile.
Which was why they didn’t know, he thought as he managed to get in despite the fact that the car door wouldn’t open all the way. If he’d been any more muscular, he might’ve had to climb through the passenger side door. Yeah, for not being in shape, Kaid thought fishing his car keys out of his pocket. He was eager to get home as he started the car and backed slowly out of the over crowded parking spot. Maybe he’d have a letter, an email, or even a phone message from Mitch when he got home. It was always a possibility especially since it had been a couple of months now since the last one.
